Snow Mountain

Known as the most beautiful mountain in Taiwan!

FUN AT Snow Mountain

Trail Difficulty: 7/10

Adventure Duration: 5 day/s

Snow Mountain is the most beautiful mountain at Taiwan, at 3886 MASL and 1000 meters higher than Mt. Apo and Mt. Pulag. Hikers, who want to experience a high altitude climb in a semi-temperature country, may choose this aside from Mt. Kinabalu.

Hiking is best during spring and autumn where participants will not just experience the beauty of Snow Mountain but Wuling Farm and the city of Taipei sa well. The scenic and prominent Wuling farm is the pre-sidetrip of the hike where high-mountain fruits, vegetables and teas are grown and harvested by retired servicemen. Taoshan waterfalls create an oasis of tranquillity; learn about the protected landlocked salmon in Qijawan Creek and taste the farm’s fresh produce temperate-zone produce. Wuling farm is the home of a very rare variety of fish on the verge of extinction. Paired with its breathtaking mountain panoramas, the cherry blossoms are a sight to behold. Coordinators will also take you to the Zhongshan Street in Taipei where affordable alpine gears are available.

The Snow Mountain experience is indeed an exhilarating one since it’s a mid-high altitude climb and the side-trips will prepare you for the climb and will let you experience Taipei at its best.

1. Do we head to Taipei together from Manila?
We advise everyone to join us on the flight from Manila to Taipei and back to Manila. However, if you wish to stay longer or arrive earlier, this is allowed. Just make sure that you’re in Taipei on our scheduled timeline.

2. Is a Visa required to enter Taiwan?
As of 2018 Filipinos are now Visa exempt until July 31, 2019.

3. Will there be snow on the hike?
Taiwan has four seasons. For the month of February, it will still be cold and there’s a possibility to snow since it is in the tail end of winter.

4. During the hike, can we leave some of our stuff in Taipei?
Yes. From Taipei and before departing for the jump-off point, we can leave stuff that we won’t need during the hike.

We will be conducting a preparation climb meeting/ introduction to Taiwan weeks before our scheduled departure to discuss briefly our Snow Mountain Expedition.
