Mt. Pulag- Tawangan trail

Book Now!

Towering above the Cordilleras at 2,922 meters above sea level, Mt. Pulag has a bit of everything that a mountain climber would want. Challenging ascents, mystical atmosphere, and breathtaking views are all part of the package. And with multiple trails that vary in difficulty and scenery, the highest summit in Luzon has become a popular destination for beginner and veteran climbers alike.

Of the four trails that lead up to the summit, the Tawangan trail is said to be the most enchanting. This route takes you through beautiful mossy forests taken straight out of a fairytale. After a few hours of wondering through this forest, you emerge onto picturesque grasslands described by locals as “the playground of the gods.” And as you continue up the mountain, Pulag provides many vantage points from which you can marvel at the beauty of the rest of the Cordilleras. After
spending a chilly night at the campsite near the summit, the experience is topped off by a spectacular view of the sunrise amidst a sea of clouds.

Without a doubt, the wonders of Pulag are a must-see for every Filipino mountain climber.

Note: The Tawangan trail is of moderate difficulty, and travel time from the jumpoff
point to the summit is approximately 10 hours.

Did you know?
The town of Kabayan, Benguet, which serves as the jump-off point for the Tawangan trail, is home to the Ibaloi tribe. If you have free time, you can visit Opdas Burial Cave, where the Ibaloi keep their mummified dead.
