Tres Marias

FUN AT Tres Marias

Trail Difficulty: 5/10

Adventure Duration: 3 day/s

If you are looking for a sea and summit hike, then Mt. Tres Marias is a wonderful option. Standing at 1,315 meters above sea level, Mt. Tres Marias is considered as the second highest mountain in Region VIII, named for its three prominent peaks.

A place of myth and lore, the mountain is found in the Island of Biliran and is home to a number of pristine waterfalls. Among the most popular ones include Sambawan Falls, Ulan-Ulan and Recolletos. Swimming in the cool waters is definitely a must when you trail to the summit of the mountain. The virgin forests make it worthwhile, as well, with its rich and diverse flora and fauna.

At the summit, which is called Bilitan, hikers can indulge in a view of the Biliran Island and its neighboring peaks such as Mt. Naliwatan and Mt. Sugo. From start to end, hiking Mt. Tres Marias is truly worthwhile and rewarding! Challenge yourself on the trail, and get fascinated by nature’s finest works along the way.
