Overview

Known for its imperial cities, contrasting landscapes of mountain range and grandiose deserts, exquisite cuisine and traditional craftsmanship— the colorful culture of Morocco is definitely one for the books!

On this expedition, we have crafted an itinerary that combines all the bests of Morocco.

We will visit and experience the imperial cities of Marrakech and Fez, camp and ride camels in the Sahara desert, hike the Berber trails and witness their nomadic way of life and savor the relaxed pace of Chefchaouen.

This trip is open to everyone, especially for those who have prior hike experience. While the hike is considered an intermediate one, it is still best to be fit and active to fully enjoy this adventure.

  • Day 1

  • 08:00 AM April 9: Arrival in Marrakesh Welcome to Morocco! Arrival in Marrakesh and head to our accommodations to check-in. Overnight.

  • Day 2

  • 08:00 AM April 10: Free day in Marrakesh City tour as we visit Souks, old palaces like Bahia, Badia, Koutoubia Mosque, Majorelle Gardens and other landmarks. Overnight and prepare for the hike the following day.

  • Day 3

  • 08:00 AM April 11: Berber trek starts today Today is the start of our hike as we explore and discover the traditional villages of the Atlas Mountains. We travel to Imlil at 1,740 masl and start our hike as it passes by high passes with amazing panoramic views.

  • Day 4

  • 08:00 AM April 12: Berber hiking in the Atlas Mountains We continue our hike along valleys and high passes. We will enjoy views of Mt. Toubkal, the highest mountain in Morocco, and learn about the local culture and history of the country.

  • Day 5

  • 08:00 AM April 13: Last day of the trek Today involves a fantastic climb out of the Azzadene Valley. We'll head up the valley towards Tizi Oussem from then towards the pass at Tizi n Mzik (2489m) before descending down into Imlil. Overnight in Imlil.

  • Day 6

  • 08:00 AM April 14: Sahara Desert tour Our Sahara Desert tour begins. We first travel to Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO world heritage site, as we pass through Tizi-Ntichka pass and the high atlas mountain. Continue and head to Ouarzazat before finally arriving at Dades gorge. Overnight.

  • Day 7

  • 08:00 AM April 15: Todra Gorge, Camel ride and Desert Camp The Sahara Desert, the third largest desert in the world. On this day we will continue our ride to Merzouga passing by Tinghir and other villages. Before the day ends we will be riding a camel enroute to our desert camp. At night we will enjoy our dinner under a sky full of stars, traditional nomad music and a bonfire to dance around and as we share stories.

  • Day 8

  • 08:00 AM April 16: Sahara – Midelt Travel through sahara desert Experience spectacular views the Ziz valley and view the Erfoud oasis which offers amazing photographic opportunities before arriving to Midelt

  • Day 9

  • 08:00 AM April 17: Arrival in Fez We drive from Midelt to Fez. Founded in the 9th century, Fez reached its height in the 13th–14th centuries under the Merinids, when it replaced Marrakesh as the capital of the kingdom. Overnight in Fez.

  • Day 10

  • 08:00 AM April 18: Tour around Fez Fez is the oldest imperial city of Morocco and probably the most impressive. We will be visiting important landmarks such as The Tanneries, The Royal Palace and Explore the Medina and Bab Boujeloud among others. Overnight in Fez.

  • Day 11

  • 08:00 AM April 19: Chefchaouen via Meknes and volubilis We depart for Chefchaouen via the ancient Roman Ruins of Volubilis, Meknes & Rabat. In Volubilis, we will find beautiful mosaic floors, uncovered and brought to light by the archaeologists that work this partly excavated site. In Meknes, one of the 4 Imperial cities in Morocco, the main focus is not its medina but it’s fascinating history and Imperial quarters of Moulay Ismail.

  • Day 12

  • 08:00 AM April 20: Explore Chefchaouen Free day in Chefchaouen. The beauty of this place is endless as you get lost in the maze of streets, visit the souk and shop in the bazaars, as well as to visit Kasbah Museum. This is a free day to wonder.

  • Day 13

  • 08:00 AM April 21: Drive back to Marrakech Early Morning drive back to Marrakech. Overnight in Marrakech and final packing.

  • Day 14

  • 08:00 AM Contingency Day

  • Day 15

  • 08:00 AM Fly back to Manila
