Overview

Located in Davao Oriental, Mt. Hamiguitan is a UNESCO World Heritage. It’s the 6th location in the Philippines to be declared as a UNESCO site. It stands at 1,620 meters above sea level and is a critical habitat for numerous plants and animals.

This mountain has 12 endemic floras and faunas (6 Flora & 6 Fauna) and is home to the endemic Philippine Eagle and Cockatoo. But more than being a habitat, Mt. Hamiguitan is known for its Pygmy forest also called the “Bonsai Forest”. It is composed of the century-old trees that are miniature in size that collectively create a unique landscape. Walking among these trees will make any person feel like a giant!

  • 02:00 AM Meet up in Davao City.Depart for Mt. Hamiguitan.

  • 07:00 AM Orientation. Start trek.

  • 09:00 AM ETA Puting Bato.

  • 12:00 PM ETA Base Camp. Lunch.

  • 04:00 PM View deck.

  • 05:00 PM ETA Bonsai Garden. Head back to base camp.

  • Day 2

  • 03:00 AM Light breakfast. Start trek along pygmy forest.

  • 04:30 AM head back to Camp.

  • 05:30 AM ETA Lantawan tres. Sunrise.

  • 06:30 AM Head to Secret Garden.

  • 06:30 AM Dinner.

  • 08:30 AM ETA Tinagong Dagat.

  • 10:00 AM ETA Secret Garden. Early lunch.

  • 11:30 AM Head back to Camp.

  • 02:30 PM ETA back at Camp 3. Rest.

  • 03:00 PM Head to Twin falls.

  • 05:00 PM ETA Camp 3. Rest and easy.

  • Day 3

  • 05:00 AM Wake up call. Breakfast. Head to summit.

  • 07:30 AM ETA Davao City.

  • 09:30 AM ETA Summit.

  • 10:00 AM Steep descent. Lunch along the way.

  • 03:00 PM Back at jump-off point.

  • 04:30 PM Head back to Davao City.

  • 08:00 PM ETA Davao City.
