Mt. Pico de Loro, also known as the “Parrot’s Peak”, is a popular destination for mountaineers throughout the country. Many people are curious to witness for themselvesthe iconic rock peak.Mt. Pico de Loro is the highest point in Cavite. From here, one can see the wide plains of Cavite and the South China Sea.
At the summit, mountaineers can see the Parrot’s Peak and even climb it if daring enough. It’s definitely worth to climbthe peak just for the sights alone. The breeze from the sea is carried all the way to the summit, so it’s always a refreshing experience even during hot or dry days.
The trek is not as difficult to seasoned mountaineers but will pose a challenge for beginners, which makes Mt. Pico de Loro a popular spot to new hikers and to those looking for an adventure.Climbing the rock peak is challenging thrilling and requires a bit of bouldering but is something to be proud of once completed.

02:00 AM Meet up and Registration at McDonalds El Pueblo Ortigas.
02:30 AM Depart for Mt. Pico de Loro, Cavite.
04:30 AM Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at Mt. Pico de Loro Jump off Point, Cavite.
04:45 AM Final preparations and orientation.
05:00 AM Start Trek.
08:30 AM ETA Camp Site. Proceed to summit.
10:00 AM ETA Summit. Picture Taking.
11:00 PM Start descent to Camp site.
12:00 PM ETA Camp site. Lunch.
02:00 PM Descent to Jump off point.
03:30 PM ETA Jump off point. Wash up.
04:30 PM Depart for Manila.
08:00 PM ETA Manila.

1. How hard is the climb?

Pico de Loro has a difficulty of 4 and a Trail Difficulty of 3 (refer to our difficulty description rating) but this is just a guide as other factors can make the climb more difficult or easier. First part of the climb is gentle and a bit flat whole the latter part to the camp site and summit is an ascent with trails of around 40-50 deg. The final summit assault is the steepest with 70deg inclines.

2. Are we required to climb the rock beak/parrots beak?
This is optional but highly encouraged. From the summit it will take around 15 minutes to get to the top of the rock beak.

3. How do we get to Mt. Pico de Loro?
Private vans will be used as transportation. Travel time is around 2-21/2 hours.

4. What if it rains?
If a storm signal is raised in the area the climb is automatically called off. For other decisions on cancelation the management will announce this to everyone. In the instance of an unfortunate and unpredictable natural event or the like and the group is already in the area

5. Are there restrooms in the mountain?
There are decent restrooms and shower areas at the jump-off point at at the ranger station which is 30 minutes from the jump-off point. Aside from these there are no other restrooms.

6. Is there mobile signal?
The jump-off point and majority of the parts of the mountain will not have signal. There  is signal at the summit and camp site.

7. Is this ideal for beginners?
We suggest climbing a level 1 or 2 climb before climbing Pico de Loro but if you are confident about your physical fitness and have an active lifestyle then you are more than welcome to join this climb.

8. How big is the group?
At an average we have 12-15 participants plus your guides for this adventure but we can accommodate up to 24 climbers for this adventure.
