1. How hard is the climb?
Pico de Loro has a difficulty of 4 and a Trail Difficulty of 3 (refer to our difficulty description rating) but this is just a guide as other factors can make the climb more difficult or easier. First part of the climb is gentle and a bit flat whole the latter part to the camp site and summit is an ascent with trails of around 40-50 deg. The final summit assault is the steepest with 70deg inclines.
2. Are we required to climb the rock beak/parrots beak?
This is optional but highly encouraged. From the summit it will take around 15 minutes to get to the top of the rock beak.
3. How do we get to Mt. Pico de Loro?
Private vans will be used as transportation. Travel time is around 2-21/2 hours.
4. What if it rains?
If a storm signal is raised in the area the climb is automatically called off. For other decisions on cancelation the management will announce this to everyone. In the instance of an unfortunate and unpredictable natural event or the like and the group is already in the area
5. Are there restrooms in the mountain?
There are decent restrooms and shower areas at the jump-off point at at the ranger station which is 30 minutes from the jump-off point. Aside from these there are no other restrooms.
6. Is there mobile signal?
The jump-off point and majority of the parts of the mountain will not have signal. There is signal at the summit and camp site.
7. Is this ideal for beginners?
We suggest climbing a level 1 or 2 climb before climbing Pico de Loro but if you are confident about your physical fitness and have an active lifestyle then you are more than welcome to join this climb.
8. How big is the group?
At an average we have 12-15 participants plus your guides for this adventure but we can accommodate up to 24 climbers for this adventure.
