Mt. Arayat is an extinct volcano located in the island of Luzon with no recorded historical eruption. Originally famous for the tales of fairies and other mystical creatures that supposedly inhabit its forests, Mt. Arayat is now considered as one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Central Luzon region.

In spite of the fantastical stories surrounding the mountain, hikers are not deterred from exploring the promising Mt. Arayat. The trail’s difficulty level is rated 4 out of 10. It can be considered a challenging hike for beginners and easy-to-moderate level for seasoned mountain climbers. Mt. Arayat is a perfect getaway for those who are looking for a fascinating day-trip adventure.

Did you know?
Before hikers discovered the beauty and wonders of Mt. Arayat, the locals believed that a fairy or god - depending on the version of the story - called Mariang Sinukuan or Sucu inhabited the area.

03:00 AM Meet up and Registration at McDonald's El Pueblo, Ortigas.
03:30 AM Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) for Mt. Arayat, Pampanga.
06:30 AM Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) Mt. Arayat Jump-Off Point. Final preparations and orientation.
07:00 AM Start Trek.
11:30 AM ETA Summit. Lunch.
12:00 PM Head to Rockies view deck.
01:00 PM Start Descent.
04:30 PM ETA Jump-Off Point. Wash up.
05:30 PM Depart for Manila.
09:00 PM ETA Manila.

1. How do we get there?
We will be taking a private vehicle that will pass through the North Luzon Expressway. Travel time is 2-3 hours.

2. Is the climb ideal for beginners?
No, the climb is challenging and has steep ascents. But if you are confident about your fitness level then you can climb this mountain.

3. Are there restrooms?

Restrooms are only available at the jump-off point. Once the trek starts there will be no restrooms available.
 

4. Is there a water source? 

There is no water source on the mountain.Once can purchase water en route to the jump-off point.
