Overview

Mt. Pinatubo is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, stretching across the provinces of Pampanga, Zambales, and Tarlac. This volcano is home to the Aeta people and features a landscape filled with unique lahar formations and boulders. However, the true gem of Mt. Pinatubo is its stunning crater lake, which lies at the end of a 2.5-hour trek. The color of the water changes from blue green to deep blue depending on the season.

Did you know?

After 600 years of being in deep slumber, Mt. Pinatubo erupted in 1991, spewing tons of sulfur dioxide and lahar in the atmosphere. This resulted in a significant decrease in global temperatures for the following few years.

It was one of the most catastrophic eruptions in Philippine history, causing destruction of billions of pesos worth of crops and thousands of properties covered in lahar.

Important reminders:

- There's a  policy in Mt. Pinatubo requires all foreigners to confirm their reservation at 20 days to 1 month before their hike.

-Individuals 60 years old and above are required to present a medical certificate indicating that they are fit to climb.

-Children below 4 years old are not allowed to hike.

  • Day 1

  • 01:00 AM Meet up at Mcdo Emerald Shell Ortigas.

  • 01:30 AM Depart for Mt. Pinatubo, Capas.

  • 05:30 AM Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at Mt. Pinatubo DENR.

  • 06:00 AM Board 4x4 and Start Ride to Mt. Pinatubo jump off point.

  • 08:00 AM End of 4x4 ride. Start hike. (On some occasions, 4x4 rides may reach the foot of Mt. Pinatubo, making the trek just 30 minutes.)

  • 10:00 AM ETA Mt. Pinatubo Crater. Rest and explore the area. Early lunch.

  • 11:00 AM Start descent.

  • 01:00 PM Arrival at 4x4 stop. Board 4x4 to jump off.

  • 02:30 PM ETA Mt. Pinatubo DENR. Wash up.
